Top Three Finalists Revealed
Things are heating up at Kinolime!
Less than a week on from announcing Stephen Fingleton as director of The Waif, the winner of Kinolime’s debut screenplay competition, we’re pleased to reveal this year’s finalists. Out of a thousand submissions, we’ve narrowed the pool down to just three standout screenplays. These finalists are now competing for the coveted top prize – and the game-changing production deal that comes with it.
Let’s officially meet our finalists!
ERIC LANDAU – Writer of MOB MENTALITY
A seven-time script contest placer, and zero-time contest winner, Eric’s scripts “The Moth Effect” and “Florida Man Decides to Kill Guy Who Started The @FloridaMan Twitter Account” were named finalists of ScreenCraft’s Animation and Comedy competitions respectively. Eric has also been a contributing writer for several Los Angeles morning radio shows heard on Sirius/XM and terrestrial radio, has been seen performing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles and other cities, and co-created a now-defunct robot themed prank call website.
LOGLINE: A thirteen-year-old suburban kid believes he is the reincarnation of John Gotti and attempts to order a hit on Sammy The Bull Gravano.
WHY WE LOVE IT: This outrageous comedy delivers big laughs and even bigger heart. If the evocative logline doesn’t hook you, the hilarious set pieces, heartfelt relationships, and scandalous set pieces definitely will.

Together, they prioritize creativity, collaboration, and integrity in every project they bring to life.
LOGLINE: A parasite that has taken over the mind and body of a realtor in southern Appalachia yearns for the impossible, to be human.
WHY WE LOVE IT: A genre-bending horror-thriller that takes both forms into uncharted territory. It’ll keep you on edge – unsettled, anxious – but always gripped by the surprisingly human story at its core. Packed with moments destined to become iconic.

ANDRE FORD – Writer of COOPERVILLE
Andre Ford was born in North Carolina but spent his formative years living in Japan and Germany as an Air Force military brat. WHY WE LOVE IT: This horror / dark comedy hybrid is audacious in premise and scope. With sharp social commentary that’s both accessible and layered, it feels ahead of its time. And don’t overlook the sly humor and biting dramatic irony that elevates the horror.
